Frequently Asked Questions
Are these food tours?
No. Teta & Teta journeys explore the history and culture of an Egyptian city through local guides, significant places, music and food. The grandmother's table is the heart of the day, but the experience is much larger than a restaurant or tasting tour.
Where do the meals take place?
In carefully selected public, historic and atmospheric settings—including waterfront spaces, boats, streets, rooftops and locations overlooking heritage buildings. These are not private-home visits.
How physically demanding is the day?
Guests should be comfortable spending much of the day outside and walking for approximately four hours, with breaks along the way. Each city page provides its specific route. Port Said offers a non-cycling alternative.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Curious children who enjoy listening, walking and participating are welcome. Based on previous experience, we recommend the journeys for children aged five and above. Children through age ten receive 50% off.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Please list any dietary requirements in the "Food restrictions" field when you register. We will accommodate them wherever reasonably possible and contact you if a particular request cannot be safely met.
How will I receive the meeting details?
After booking, guests receive the trip coordinator's phone number and are added to a private WhatsApp group for meeting details, updates and support on the day.
What happens in bad weather?
Severe weather cancellations are rare in Egypt. If conditions require us to cancel the journey, guests receive a full refund.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings cancelled eight or more days before departure receive a full refund. Bookings become non-refundable inside seven days because preparations and food sourcing have begun. Tickets may be transferred to another person if you send us their details before the experience.
Can I arrange a private journey?
